Miguel begins with a brief history of AI, followed by an overview of the revolution underway thanks to generative artificial intelligence, following the public launch of ChatGPT by OpenAI on Nov. 30, 2022. This ongoing revolution concerns language and the unique conversational capacity of LLMs. But also a first level of reasoning capacity, unknown until now. Not to mention the incredible ability to generate computer code.

Miguel then goes on to talk about feedback from projects, starting with those he led at Université Paris Dauphine – PSL when he was Director of Digital, including a virtual coach to help students better revise their gaps. A great success repeated in a dozen universities in different forms.

He then discusses the major areas of AI in which the AI labs at ETS in the USA are researching, with a major impact on education and learning aids.
